Fatal Tarzana Crash Victim Identified

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the Valley Traffic Division.

A motorist who was killed when his car crashed in Tarzana was identified Wednesday.

Saul Vazquez, 21, of Tarzana died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 10:55 a.m. Tuesday at Burbank Boulevard and Etiwanda Avenue, said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

According to the preliminary investigation, Vazquez was speeding west on Burbank Boulevard in a black 1995 BMW when he lost control of the car, which veered off the roadway and hit a curb, a chain-link fence and a power pole, police said. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash was asked to call Valley Traffic Division Detective Kevin Hawn at (818) 644-8025.
