It took close to 50 firefighters to contain a fire that broke out Saturday afternoon at Woodley Lakes Gold Course.
About 50 firefighters used two helicopters and ground tools to keep a brushfire in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area to four acres today.
The fire broke out at 6400 Woodley Ave., near the Woodley Lakes Golf Course, at about 1:35 p.m. today, and was declared out at 2:24 p.m.
Initial reports from the scene indicate the fire was near an airstrip used by model airplane enthusiasts, but no cause had been established immediately.
