Gas Line Ruptures, Burns in Encino

Fire Department is on the scene on the 4400 block of Hayvenhurst Avenue.

A ruptured half-inch gas line, damaged by construction, sparked a fire at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 4400 block of Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino.

LAFD spokesperson Shawn Lenske says a city fire crew is on hand to protect the adjacent home.

A gas company crew has been dispatched to the scene, according to Denise King of SoCal Gas.

The LAPD advises that Havenhurst Street between Libbit Avenue and Lanai Drive is closed.

There have been no injuries.
