Highway Patrol Chases Motorist from Tarzana to Thousand Oaks

CHP officer crashed into the car of the suspect, who then surrendered.

A motorist led authorities on a chase Friday from Tarzana to the Thousand Oaks area, where the man was taken into custody.

The pursuit began about 8:10 a.m., when California Highway Patrol officers saw the white convertible speeding and moving recklessly near Lindley Avenue and Burbank Boulevard, and tried to pull the car over, CHP Officer Monica Posada said.

The chase continued onto the nearby Ventura Freeway and headed north, entering Ventura County. Once there, the motorist exited the freeway in the Thousand Oaks area, traveled on surface streets for a while before entering the freeway again and then turning back on surface streets, where a CHP officer crashed into the car of the suspect, who then surrendered.
