70 firefighters are dispatched, and no structures are threatened, LAFD said.
A grass fire broke out today in the Sepulveda Dam flood control basin in Van Nuys, but no structures were threatened, authorities said.
Firefighters were sent to the 6400 block of Woodley Avenue about 12:20 p.m., said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire initially scorched about a quarter acre of grass, and was contained within a perimeter, Humphrey said. About 70 firefighters were working to douse the flames, an effort that was continuing nearly an hour after the fire was reported, he said.
Patch was near the scene across the 405 from the site, and observed that the fire was under control shortly after 1 p.m.
