UPDATE: Burglary Suspect Taken Into Custody

LAPD nabs man after setting up a perimeter near Ventura Boulevard and Louise Avenue.

UPDATE 9:45 a.m: The LAPD took a burglary suspect into custody Wednesday morning after setting up a search perimeter in the 17200 block of Ventura Boulevard near Louise Avenue, authorities have confirmed.

"They did take a person into custody and the perimeter has been broken down," said Bruce Borihanh, a spokesman for the LAPD.

Borihanh said that the burglary was attempted but not completed. He also confirmed there is a second person believed involved who has not been apprehended.

"He has a buddy," said Borihanh of the man taken into custody. "He'll give him up like in the movies."

Lisa Carloss, A Patch reader who lives near the scene, said in an email that she heard police helicopters over her house at 3:30 a.m. and then saw LAPD and SWAT personnel gather at 8 a.m.

The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for two burglars north of Ventura Boulevard near Louise Avenue, authorities have confirmed.

"The search is for two burglary suspects in that area, a perimeter has been set up and the investigation is ongoing at this point," Richard French, a spokesman for the LAPD, told Patch Wednesday morning.

"I don't know if the burglary was successful or if they were interrupted," said French.

Traffic may be affected around the search perimeter.
