LAPD Seeks Two Men Suspected of Home Invasion, Kidnapping and Armed Robbery

Monday Night

8:13 p.m. Foothill Boulevard and Maclay Street, Pacoima
Mission Division LAPD are called to a citizen report of a possible act of arson. Two juveniles are observed lighting and throwing flares into a brushy area; they are in the alley behind the National Guard.

8:17 p.m. 6900 block of Radford Avenue, North Hollywood
LAFD Engine 89 and Rescue 89 are dispatched for an emergency call to aid a sick person.

8:19 p.m. 13600 block of Chase Street, Panorama City
LAFD Engine 7 and Rescue 7 respond to an emergency call for overdose at the residence.

8:24 p.m. 20600 block of Oxnard Street, Warner Center
Topanga Division LAPD units are called to a residence for a reported "hot prowl" (trespassing or burglary attempted while occupants are still on the premises). The possible prowler is described as "a white male, approximately 50 years old, gray hair, wearing sunglasses, a sweater and blue jeans." The prowler, unknown to the reporting person, knocked on the front door.

8:26 p.m. 7000 block of Hayvenhurst Avenue, Lake Balboa
West Valley LAPD is dispatched for a "code 3 response" (emergency call, use lights and sirens) to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. The alleged assailant is "there now."

8:29 p.m. Several LAPD patrol cars have arrived at the scene. The LAPD dispatcher is advised that the alleged assailant is now in custody.

8:41 p.m. Kewen Avenue and north of Van Nuys Boulevard, Pacoima
Report of "211" (armed robbery) that occurred. Robbers are described as three males in their late teens, dressed in dark clothing and armed with a "green and black rifle." Items forcibly taken were a passport, cell phone and miscellaneous papers. Mission Division LAPD units are dispatched to investigate.

8:42 p.m. Riverside Drive, passing Lankershim Boulevard, heading toward Vineland Avenue, Studio City
A female driver reports that a man in a "two-door silver Honda Accord, older model" has followed her off the freeway and is now "tail-gating" her car. North Hollywood LAPD units are called to respond.

8:43 p.m. The female driver now reports that she has turned on her emergency flashers and the "tail-gater" has also turned on his flashers. An LAPD patrol car is on the way, and asks the dispatcher to direct the female driver to "turn right on Colfax Avenue."

8:45 p.m. The dispatcher relays information that the female driver "is now passing Addison Street," and the tail-gater is still following her. An LAPD patrol unit is now behind the tail-gating vehicle and the officer is asking the dispatcher to check "wants and warrants" on the license plate of the offender's car. The dispatcher repeats the license plate number, and states that there are "no wants or warrants." The dispatcher then provides the registered owner's information. The patrol officer requests the dispatcher to instruct the female driver "to pull over to the right." The officer now stops the offender's vehicle at Colfax Avenue and Magnolia Boulevard.

8:52 p.m. Reseda Boulevard and Saticoy Street, Reseda
Report of several males in a dark-colored sedan and several other males in a silver Honda creating a disturbance at the intersection. West Valley LAPD is notified.

8:56 p.m.
5000 block of Woodman Avenue, Van Nuys
LAFD Rescue 39 is called to attend to a "sick person" at the residence.

9:17 p.m. 11200 block of Huston Street, North Hollywood
North Hollywood LAPD is notified about an "attempted suicide" by a 38-year-old female at the residence.

9:30 p.m. The reporting person, who is the boyfriend of the female who is possibly attempting suicide, now informs that his girlfriend has barricaded herself in a room and says he "is unable to open the door."

9:37 p.m. Magnolia Boulevard and Clybourn Street, Toluca Terrace
A North Hollywood LAPD patrol unit is requested to assist in the "ambulance/traffic" incident at the intersection.

9:44 p.m. Magnolia Boulevard and North Valley Street, Burbank
The LAPD unit has arrived on the scene and determined that the traffic accident occurred in the city limits of Burbank. They have notified Burbank Police to take over the investigation.

9:50 p.m. 7400 block of Coldwater Canyon Avenue, North Hollywood
North Hollywood LAPD is called to respond to a battery incident in a domestic violence situation. A male is alleged to have assaulted the female caller.

9:50 p.m. Victory Boulevard and Lindley Avenue, Reseda
West Valley LAPD units are requested to respond to an assault with a deadly weapon incident in progress. Two males are reported to be chasing a female victim down the street. The LAPD helicopter,  Air 16, hears the radio call and is responding to assist.

9:57 p.m. 12000 block of Saticoy Street, North Hollywood
Report of a "domestic violence/restraining order violation." North Hollywood LAPD is called to respond to the scene.

10 p.m.
5200 block of Corteen Place, Sherman Village
A caller reports ongoing narcotics use by a neighbor to North Hollywood LAPD.

10:01 p.m. 12000 block of Saticoy Street, North Hollywood
From additional information given to the LAPD call center, the alleged domestic violence/restraining order violator is "eight months pregnant" and is also reported to be "390," code for "drunk." The pregnant woman counters that she has a restraining order against the person who initially called the police. The initial caller reports that the pregnant woman is attempting to break the window of the car. The pregnant woman claims that the other person has threatened to harm her.

10:02 p.m. The initial person reporting now says that the pregnant woman is armed with a "possible piece of wood" and is attempting to break the windshield while the caller sits inside the car. The pregnant woman is now striking the vehicle with the object. A North Hollywood patrol unit radios that they are enroute to Saticoy Street.

10:03 p.m. The North Hollywood LAPD units responding to the Coldwater Canyon Boulevard domestic violence incident (9:50 p.m.) and the Saticoy Street domestic violence incident (9:57 p.m.) are trying to determine if the two calls are related. The location given on the 9:50 p.m. call was determined by the proximity of the caller's cell phone to the nearest cell tower, which is located on Coldwater Canyon Avenue.

10:06 p.m. 11200 block of Huston Street, Toluca Terrace
LAPD officers on the scene have accessed the barricaded woman. A North Hollywood police officer calls dispatch to send a rescue ambulance to the scene. The woman is reported to be "approximately 30 years old, conscious and breathing" but appears to be under the "influence of a narcotic."

10:07 p.m. Oxnard Street and Vineland Avenue, North Hollywood
North Hollywood LAPD receives a call about a "woman with mental illness" at the intersection.

10:07 p.m. 12000 block of Saticoy Street, North Hollywood
LAPD officers on the scene report that they have the alleged restraining order violator in custody.

10:08 p.m. 11200 block of Huston Street, Toluca Terrace
LAFD responds to the location with a rescue ambulance for an apparent narcotic overdose.

10:08 p.m. 12000 block of Saticoy Street, North Hollywood
LAPD officers on the scene request a female officer for a search, and also a supervisor, to the location. (A woman is heard screaming loudly and incoherently during the transmission.)

10:10 p.m. 12000 Hart Street, North Hollywood
North Hollywood LAPD receives a call about a "screaming woman."

10:34 p.m. Canoga Park
Undercover LAPD officers are now surreptitiously following a vehicle with three possible suspects inside. The officers observe that the driver of the vehicle is being very cautious, observing posted speed limits and signaling during turns. The officer comments that the driver is especially careful when a "black-and-white" (LAPD patrol car) passes them.

10:37 p.m. Hazeltine Avenue and Valleyheart Drive, Sherman Oaks
A caller reports that a "motor vehicle burglary suspect is there now." He is described to be "a white male with long black hair" and is attempting to break into an SUV and a black Honda Civic parked near the location.

10:39 p.m. 6800 block of Hinds Avenue, North Hollywood
North Hollywood LAPD is called to a "415" (fight) that has become a battery incident. The assailant is reported to be "there now," and the woman who has called 911 has left the phone line open.

10:40 p.m. 5200 block of Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood
North Hollywood patrol units are called to yet another domestic violence call. The alleged battery suspect is still at the location.

10:45 p.m. 6800 block of Hinds Avenue, North Hollywood
North Hollywood patrol officers have arrived on the scene and report that they have the alleged assailant in custody.

10:48 p.m. Saticoy Street and Kester Avenue, Van Nuys
Van Nuys Division LAPD units are called to the scene of a possible trespassing/burglary on the grounds of Fulton Middle School.
