Lenny Dykstra, One-Time Encino Resident, Freed From Prison

The former All-Star outfielder was sentenced to six months in prison for bankruptcy fraud.

A former All-Star outfielder who once lived in Encino and filed for bankruptcy but was sentenced last December to six and a half months in prison for hiding baseball gloves and other objects from his playing days that were supposed to be part of his bankruptcy filing, was released from a California prison after serving time for bankruptcy fraud.

According to the Associated Press, federal Bureau of Prisons records indicate that Lenny Dykstra, 50, is a free man, although no other details were immediately available. Dykstra, who was already serving a three-year term behind bars in a grand theft auto case, played with the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies for 12 years.
