Man Hit Twice by Two Separate Vehicles, Dies

Police are interviewing witnesses in Lake Balboa to find the hit-and-run drivers.

A pedestrian was struck twice by separate vehicles in a fatal hit and run in Lake Balboa, police said today.

The 18-year-old male victim appeared to be outside a crosswalk when he was struck by westbound vehicles on the 15900 block of Victory Blvd at 9:35 p.m. Friday, LAPD Sgt. Randy Modrell said.

Modrell said there were “one or two” witnesses who were being interviewed by police.

Evidence at the scene suggested the second vehicle should have been able to stop after the pedestrian was struck the first time, said Modrell, of the LAPD Valley Traffic Division.

“They were far enough back where the second vehicle should have been able to stop if they saw the guy in the street,” Modrell said.
