Monday Night Police Scanner Report

Here are some of the calls the LAPD received over a single hour Monday night in the San Fernando Valley and elsewhere.

Monday Night

9:00 p.m. Somewhere in North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol unit "15 Adam 21" is detaining possible "459" (burglary) suspects at a business or construction location. The patrol officer radios the dispatcher to contact the owner of the property for a possible meeting. The police believe the thieves "were stealing copper from the location" and need the owner to identify that the copper, found in the possession of the alleged burglars,  actually "belongs to him."

9:01 p.m. 7000 block of Woodman Avenue, Valley Glen
An LAFD engine and rescue ambulance are sent to a "non-emergency accident" at the apartment building.

9:02 p.m. 6600 Beck Avenue,  North Hollywood
A North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol unit has advised that the "code 6 Charles suspect" (an alleged wanted person known to be dangerous and possibly armed) that they reported earlier is "now in custody."

9:11 p.m. Westbound 101 near Mulholland Drive, Cahuenga Pass
North Hollywood LAPD units are informed about a "390 man in vehicle" (drunk driver) on the 101 Freeway.  The alleged drunk driver's vehicle is a "white Lexus." The California Highway Patrol is also notified about the drunk driver.

9:14 p.m. 9000 block of Yolanda Avenue, Northridge
Devonshire Division LAPD patrol units are called to investigate a resident's report of hearing possible threats involving "a knife" and seeing an unfamiliar SUV parked nearby.

9:19 p.m. Victory Boulevard and Whitsett Avenue, Valley Glen
LAPD Valley Traffic Division units are called to the scene of a "traffic collision" at the intersection.

9:25 p.m. Moorpark Street and Whitsett Avenue, Studio City
North Hollywood Division LAPD units are notified of an "ambulance, traffic" incident (a traffic accident with possible serious injuries) at the intersection.  They are directed to respond "code 3" (with lights and sirens).

9:32 p.m. 18000 block of Vanowen Street, Reseda
LAPD Valley Traffic Division is informed of a possible "reckless driver" in the area.

9:43 p.m. Petit Avenue and Chatsworth Street, Granada Hills
A Devonshire Division LAPD patrol unit is "code 6" (present at a specific location) at the community park. The officers are investigating possible suspicious activity near the "poolhouse".

9:43 p.m. Glenoaks Boulevard and Hollywood Way, Sun Valley
Foothill Division LAPD patrol units are dispatched to a "shooting just occurred" call.  A person reports hearing "20 gunshots in the area and a female screaming." Units are directed to respond, "code 3."

9:43 p.m. 100 block of South Clarence Street,  near Downtown Los Angeles
Several LAPD patrol and specialty units,  such as the "George units" (Gang Detail) and robbery detectives, have been chasing a "code 6 Charles suspect" wanted in the Rampart Division for several armed robberies. The LAPD chased the dangerous suspect in his car, then he abandoned the vehicle near the downtown area. The suspect was last seen running into a residential building (a duplex) and is now in hiding.

The police have set-up a perimeter and believe they know where he may be, but are awaiting a "search warrant" for entry. He is possibly a gang member, possibly the reason the "George" units are involved.

During the car chase, another vehicle got into the mix and was chased down by the apprehending police units, but it is now determined that the driver of the second vehicle is not connected with the original target suspect.

The police officers at the perimeter are now clearing out the residents in the immediate vicinity, as they determined that there is a possible gun still in the possession of the suspect.

9:45 p.m. 100 block of South Clarence Street, near Downtown Los Angeles
Patrol units on the perimeter observe a man appear in a driveway within the incident scene. After further observation, it is determined that he is not the suspect and is just cleaning the driveway.

9:46 p.m. Laurelgrove Avenue and Sylvan Street, North Hollywood
A North Hollywood Division LAPD "George unit" is requested to the scene of "415 juveniles" (teens creating a disturbance) in the residential area. A group of teens "dressed in dark clothing" are observed "knocking on doors, and then running."

9:47 p.m. 100 block of South Clarence Street, near Downtown Los Angeles
The LAPD units on the scene are updated that a search warrant has been secured and Hollenbeck Division "George units" will be at the scene to help initiate the search for the possibly armed and dangerous robbery suspect.

9:49 p.m. 12000 block of Peoria Street, Sun Valley
Foothill Division LAPD units are called to investigate an "unknown trouble call" at a residence. 911 received a call from a phone at the location, but no voice is heard over the "open line." Patrol units are to respond "code 3."

9:50 p.m. 12800 block of Sherman Way, North Hollywood
The North Hollywood Division "15 Adam 12" (a 2-officer patrol unit) on the scene is requesting a North Hollywood Division "William unit" (Detective) to assist with a "code 30 Victor" (a burglar alarm that captures visual recordings of intruders) incident. The location of the possible burglary is described by the dispatcher as "the Fresh & Easy."  (Currently there is no "Fresh & Easy" open there, but there is new construction of a possible market on that block.)

9:51 p.m. 100 block of South Clarence Street, near Downtown Los Angeles
The LAPD units on the scene are getting their officers into position as they prepare to serve the search warrant. The lead officer requests a patrol unit to locate at the back of the address, while the other patrol units secure the front of the building. Once the patrol units are in place, the police will address anyone inside the premises to clear out of the building.

9:53 p.m. 100 block of South Clarence Street, near Downtown Los Angeles
Some plainsclothes officers are nearby and give additional information regarding the wanted suspect. They believe there are additional suspects inside the location, and that the suspects are in the front part of the residence.

9:56 p.m. 11100 block of Acama Street, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to check on an "unknown trouble" call at the residence. Patrol units are to respond "code 3."

10:00 p.m. 6200 block of Klump Avenue, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to investigate an alleged "child abuse" incident at the residential address.
