Police Blotter: 10 Burglaries, 1 Car Theft Reported in Encino and Tarzana

Property crimes resume after a six-day let-up, totaling 14 incidents Tuesday through Sunday.

After a six-day lull in crime from April 3 to April 8 last week, property crimes resumed in Encino and Tarzana, where five burglaries from vehicles were reported Wednesday through Sunday and one vehicle was reported stolen, according to Crimemapping.com, the national crime database to which the Los Angeles Police Department contributes real-time statistics.

The sole incident regarding a stolen vehicle occurred in a multi-dwelling residential area on the block of 18600 Hatteras St.

“The owner of the vehicle parked it there and came back at 8 p.m. and it was gone,” LAPD West Valley Senior Lead Officer for Tarzana Daryl Scoggins told Encino-Tarzana Patch, adding that he and his colleagues were scheduled to discuss the past week's crime developments at a meeting Monday afternoon.
