Police Blotter: 2 Assaulted With Deadly Weapons

Local police activity during the last week in August.

Here’s a look at the crimes in Encino that were reported to the Los Angeles Police Department during Aug. 21–29, as compiled by the Los Angeles Times.

Aug. 21

An assault with a deadly weapon against a police officer was reported at 9:38 p.m. at the intersection of Libbit Avenue and Ventura Boulevard. Police later captured Brent Zubek, a 43-year-old man suspected of killing two people in Chatsworth, on an Encino rooftop. To read more about this crime, click here.

A burglary was reported at 6:15 p.m. in the 17800 block of Tarzana Street. 

Aug. 23

An assault with a deadly weapon was reported at 11:50 p.m. in the 4300 block of Hayvenhurst Avenue.

A robbery was reported at 1:45 p.m. in the 4900 block of Densmore Avenue.

Aug. 24

A petty theft was reported at 10 p.m. in the 5300 block of Newcastle Avenue.

A petty theft was reported at 5 p.m. in the 16500 block of Ventura Boulevard.

An attempted burglary was reported at 5:58 a.m. in the 17600 block of Bessemer Street.

A burglary from vehicle was reported at 11 a.m. in the 5300 block of Lindley Avenue. 

Aug. 25

A stolen vehicle was reported at 5 p.m. at the intersection of Killion Street and Newcastle.

A burglary from vehicle was reported at 11 a.m. in the 5300 block of Lindley Avenue.

Aug. 26

A burglary was reported at 1 p.m. in the 5300 block of Aldea Avenue.

A burglary was reported at 10:30 a.m. in the 16600 block of Magnolia Boulevard.

A burglary was reported at 4:10 a.m. in the 5300 block of Balboa Boulevard.

Aug. 27

No crimes reported.

Aug. 28

A petty theft was reported at 2:20 p.m. in the 17600 block of Burbank Boulevard.

Aug 29.

A property missing from stolen vehicle (grand), a recovered vehicle and a stolen vehicle were reported at 4:50 p.m. in the 17700 block of Burbank Boulevard.
