Police today sought information about a man suspected of pulling down the pants and underwear of women out walking dogs in five separate incidents in the Van Nuys area.

The attacks have taken place since the beginning of June in the early morning hours in neighborhoods of single family homes in an area bordered by Hatteras Street to the north, Morrison Street to the south, Halbrent Avenue to the west and Cedros Avenue to the east, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"He makes eye contact with his victims as he passes them, and then turns to pull down their pants and underwear," according to a police statement.

The suspect is described as white or Hispanic, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, 145 to 160 pounds with black or brown hair and brown eyes. He could be driving a late 1990s four-door gray Toyota Camry or Ford Taurus, police said.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact detectives at the LAPD's Van Nuys Division at (818) 374-0040. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
