Scanner Report: LAPD Seeks Clues in 2 Armed Robberies

Here are the raw data reports of some of the calls heard over the police scanner in the San Fernando Valley.

July 5 

1:50 p.m. 12512 Victory Blvd., Valley Glen

Two men reportedly at 12512 Victory Blvd. in Valley Glen around 1:50 p.m. Police are seeking two suspects, one described as 5 foot 8, 160 lbs. with brown hair and wearing a straw hat. The second suspect was described as 5 foot 6 and bald, thin, with a clean-cut goatee. They fled in an unknown direction.

4:30 p.m. 4343 Van Nuys Blvd., Sherman Oaks

The 90-year-old owner of a coin shop in Sherman Oaks was by a man at gunpoint. Detectives described the suspect as an African American man, about 30 years old, 6 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing about 300 pounds.

1:41 a.m. Whitsett Street and Burbank Boulevard,  North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are notified of an incident of possible "domestic violence" at the location.

1:44 a.m. 9400 Canterbury Avenue,  Arleta
Mission Division LAPD patrol units are called to the scene of a "man assaulting a woman."  Patrol units are directed to respond  "code 3" (with lights and sirens).

1:44 a.m. 12600 block of Ventura Boulevard, Studio City
North Hollywood Division LAPD are notified of a "415 group" (fight) at the location. A caller reports an "uknown female is down on the ground" and "a man with a gun" is seen.

1:46 a.m. Kinzie Street,  Northridge
Devonshire Division LAPD are called to the residence for a possible "battery, domestic violence."

1:46 a.m. Big Tujunga Canyon Road and Oro Vista Avenue, Sunland
LAFD ambulance Rescue 74 is dispatched to the scene of "the assault" at the intersection.

1:46 a.m. 9000 block of Canterbury Avenue, Arleta
Mission Division LAPD patrol units are sent to the scene of a "man assaulting a woman." The alleged suspect and the victim are seen walking toward the intersection of Terra Bella Street and Canterbury Avenue.

1:48 a.m. Big Tujunga Canyon Road and Oro Vista Avenue, Sunland
Foothill Division LAPD patrol units are called to the scene of an "ambulance battery" at the intersection.

1:48 a.m. 9000 block of Canterbury Avenue, Arleta
Mission Division LAPD patrol units have arrived at the scene of the "man assaulting a woman" call. They have investigated and find "no evidence of trouble."

1:52 a.m. 11900 block of Riverside Drive, Studio City
North Hollywood Division LAPD are called to the scene of a possible "459 suspect" (burglary suspect) now seen at the location.

1:53 a.m. 6200 block of  Hesperia Avenue, Lake Balboa
LAFD Rescue 100 is dispatched to help a person suffering from "chest pains."

1:53 a.m. 5700 block of Fair Avenue, North Hollywood
LAFD Rescue 860 is sent to attend to a "sick person" at the residence.

1:54 a.m. 15000 block of Dickens Street, Sherman Oaks
LAFD Rescue 88 is sent to help a possible stroke victim.

2:01 a.m. 7200 block of Milwood Avenue, Canoga Park
Topanga Division LAPD are called to the scene of two men "fist fighting." The caller reports that there are "no weapons seen."

2:02 a.m. 7600 Beeman Avenue, North Hollywood
LAFD Rescue 889 is called to help a person with a "diabetic problem."

2:05 a.m. 6600 block of Fallbrook Avenue, Canoga Park
Topanga Division LAPD patrol units are notified of additional burglar alarm activations at the business location.

2:06 a.m. 7200 block of Milwood Avenue, Canoga Park
Topanga Division patrol units are on the scene and advise to the dispatcher that the "suspect in custody."

2:06 a.m. Ventura Boulevard and Vineland Avenue, Studio City
North Hollywood Division LAPD are notified about a "390 man" (intoxicated person) in a vehicle. The drunk man is seen near the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Vineland Avenue, and he is driving a "green Ford SUV with no (license) plates."

2:07 a.m. 7200 block of Milwood Avenue, Canoga Park
LAFD Rescue 906 is sent to the scene of the fight. It's a non-emergency response.

2:08 a.m. 101 Freeway near Barham Boulevard, Cahuenga Pass
An LAPD traffic division patrol car is now following the "390 man" in the vehicle. He is driving southbound on the 101 Freeway.

2:09 a.m.

The traffic patrol unit informs the dispatcher that the alleged drunk driver is now nearing Highland Avenue on the southbound 101 Freeway.

2:10 a.m.

The traffic patrol unit is now attempting to stop the drunk driver in the "green Ford SUV"  freeway near the Highland Avenue exit.

2:13 a.m. 5300 block of Balboa Boulevard, near Clark Street, Encino
Several LAFD fire companies are called to a possible structure fire at the location.

2:13 a.m. 14000 Magnolia Boulevard, Van Nuys
An LAFD engine and ambulance are called to help a sick person at the address.

2:17 a.m. 5300 block of Balboa Boulevard, near Clark Street, Encino
LAFD Engine 83 is first on the scene, and reports that the structure is a "three-story garden-style apartment building." Upon their initial inspection, Engine 83 reports that "there is nothing showing."

2:23 a.m. 7300 block of Tujunga Avenue, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to check on a "507 party" (loud party disturbance) at the address.

2:23 a.m. 12300 block of Sherman Way, North Hollywood
North Hollywood patrol units are sent to investigate a "code 30 ringer" (audible burglar alarm) at the warehouse location.

2:49 a.m. 8800 block of Woodman Avenue, Panorama City
Mission Division LAPD patrol units are dispatched to the scene of a "woman with mental illness." The 22-year old woman is seen "walking in the middle of the street."

2:51 a.m. Victory Boulevard and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD are called to the scene of an "ADW"(assault with a deadly weapon) in progress." A caller describes a group attacking an individual. The dispatcher informs that it's "five versus one on the ground."

2:52 a.m. Victory Boulevard, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are notified by a caller who overheard a "male and female yelling, possibly arguing."

2:53 a.m. Vaughn Street and DeGarmo Avenue, San Fernando
Foothill Division LAPD patrol units are called to investigate an "unknown trouble" call. The dispatcher advises the units that a female had called and requested the police, then her voice was no longer heard over the open phone line.

2:53 a.m. Victory Boulevard and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, North Hollywood
The dispatcher follows up with additional information on the "ADW in progress" to the North Hollywood patrol units. One of the alleged assailants is a man wearing a "black muscle shirt, that is torn" and driving a "white BMW, 4-door." The suspects have fled the scene.
