Scanner Report: Party Ends With Man Stabbed in the Neck

This is the Scanner Report detailing incidents that happened in the San Fernando Valley early Monday morning, September 5, 2011.

9:30 p.m. Vineland Avnue and Oxnard Street, North Hollywood

Two police officers responding to a report of an assault are injured when someone throws a beer bottle at their car, shattering the window. One suspect is of the area that lasts several hours.

12:03 a.m. 5200 block of Harmony Avenue, North Hollywood

LAFD Light Force 60 and Rescue Ambulance 86 are sent to attend to a "sick person" at the residence.


12:08 a.m.  Oxnard Street, North Hollywood

A North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol unit is returning to a location they previously visited. A caller had complained of a "live band" playing in the area, but when the police arrived earlier, the caller observed that the band had spotted the officers and stopped playing until they left.


12:14 a.m. Oxnard Street, North Hollywood

The North Hollywood patrol unit has found the exact location of the "live band." The police determined that the disturbance was from a party, and the officer at the scene requests the dispatcher to call back the complainant and tell him, "the party's over."


12:15 a.m. 11300 block of Magnolia Boulevard, North Hollywood

North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are dispatched to the location for a "violent female with mental illness" causing a disturbance in the street. 


12:19 a.m.  11300 block of Magnolia Boulevard, North Hollywood

The LAPD dispatcher updates the responding patrol units on the current location of the "violent female with mental illness." She is described as a "female, hispanic, 5'7", 30 years, wearing a black tank top and black mini-skirt." She is now on Tujunga Street south of Magnolia and walking into traffic. More North Hollywood patrol units are responding "code 3."


12:20 a.m.  Magnolia Boulevard and Tujunga Avenue, North Hollywood

The first North Hollywood patrol car has arrived at the location ("code 6").


12:23 a.m.  Magnolia Boulevard and Tujunga Avenue, North Hollywood

An LAPD officer reports to the dispatcher a "code 4" situation (no other patrol units need respond, the incident is under control), the "violent female with mental illness" is now in custody.


12:29 a.m.  2300 block of Hercules Drive, Hollywood Hills

Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to the scene of an "ambulance cutting" (a person is suffering a stabbing or slashing injury and needs an ambulance). Patrol units are responding "code 3." The caller has no "suspect description," but the incident occurred at a party at the residence.


12:29 a.m.  8700 block of Tobias Avenue, Panorama City

Mission Division LAPD patrol units are called to the scene of a possible "shooting just occurred." A caller reports hearing one gunshot and a woman screaming at the location. Mission Division patrol units are directed to respond "code 3."


12:33 a.m.  2300 block of Hercules Drive, near Achilles Drive, Hollywood Hills

Hollywood Division LAPD receives another call from a different witness, who reports that the party was at a location on Achilles Drive, and the male victim was "stabbed in the neck." The caller did not have any description of the suspect.


12:34 a.m.  2300 block of Hercules Drive, near Achilles Drive, Hollywood Hills

A Hollywood Division patrol unit has arrived at the scene, and a senior officer inquires about the condition of the stabbing victim. The patrol officer responds, "He is conscious and breathing."


12:40 a.m.  2200 block of Hercules Drive, Hollywood Hills

The LAFD Rescue Ambulance has arrived at the scene of the stabbing incident, and the crew radios Operations Command Dispatch (OCD) to request an additional "Paramedic Ambulance" (an advanced life services ambulance for critical injuries) to respond to the scene. There are possibly one or more victims at the party scene.
