Scanner Report: Suspected Drunk Driver Abandons Car With Child in Tow

Around the Valley, reports of 'shots fired,' assaults and serious domestic disputes are also received by the LAPD on Monday night.

These are the raw data reports of calls heard over the police scanner on Monday night. Boldfaced communities are covered by Patch.

LAPD officers are seeking in a shooting in the parking lot of Ralphs in North Hollywood on the afternoon of June 11.

9 p.m. Ventura Boulevard and Rhodes Avenue, Studio City
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are called to investigate a possible "DUI, hit-and-run misdemeanor" (driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a traffic accident, property damage only) in the area. A woman driver was witnessed sideswiping several vehicles, then abandoning her car and fleeing, with a child in tow.

9:02 p.m. 12700 block of Vanowen Street, North Hollywood
A North Hollywood LAPD patrol unit and a Valley Traffic unit are called to the scene of an "ambulance/traffic" incident (a traffic accident with injuries that requires medical attention) at the intersection.

9:08 p.m. 10900 block of Huston Street, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD are called to the scene of a "domestic violence" incident at the apartment complex. Two women are reported to be fighting with each other at the residence.

9:14 p.m. 12000 block of Valerio Street, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD is called to investigate a possible "child abuse" incident at the apartment residence. A caller informs the police that the alleged abuser is the neighbor, described as a 25 year-old mother with three young children. The caller reports hearing the youngest child crying inside the residence and is concerned for the children's safety.

9:15 p.m. 9400 block of Sylmar Avenue, North Hills
Mission Division LAPD patrol units are called to the scene of an "ADW in progress." It is reported that four males, allegedly from the "Blythe gang," are beating up on one man at the location.

9:23 p.m. Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Magnolia Boulevard, Valley Village
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are informed about a "reckless driver" in the vicinity. The alleged suspect is described as a man in his "40's or 50's" driving a "gold convertible sedan."

9:24 p.m. 14400 block of Valerio Street, Van Nuys
Van Nuys Division LAPD patrol units are dispatched to the scene of an "ADW (assault with a deadly weapon) suspect there now." A caller reports a drunk woman "armed with a knife" is allegedly assaulting a man at the residence.

9:24 p.m. 13100 block of Vanowen Street, North Hollywood/Valley Glen border
North Hollywood Division LAPD is called to the scene of possible "shots heard." An LAPD "George (gang) unit" is responding to investigate.

9:26 p.m. 5700 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, Van Nuys
Van Nuys Division LAPD patrol unit is on the scene of a battery incident, at the Target department store. The alleged battery suspect is attempting to flee the scene, so the Van Nuys officer radios the dispatcher for backup to help pursue the assailant. A police helicopter is also requested.

9:28 p.m. Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Oxnard Street, Woodland Hills
LAPD Valley Traffic Division is requested to the scene of an "ambulance/traffic" incident (traffic accident with injuries; medical attention is needed) at the intersection.

9:29 p.m. Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Marylee Street, Woodland Hills
LAPD Valley Traffic Division is called to the scene of another "ambulance/traffic" incident at a different intersection on Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

9:32 p.m. Sunland Boulevard and Stonehurst Avenue, Shadow Hills
LAPD Valley Traffic Division is informed that the traffic collision at the intersection is now a "DUI, ambulance/traffic" incident. A drunk driver was at the wheel of one of the vehicles when the traffic collision occurred. An LAFD rescue ambulance is responding to attend to injuries.

9:34 p.m. 14600 block of Wyandotte Avenue, Van Nuys
Van Nuys Division LAPD units are called to the scene of a "violent female with mental illness." The patrol officers are informed that a 36-year-old woman, wearing only a "bra and underwear, is hallucinating, crying and tearing at her skin... out-of-control," at the apartment residence.

9:36 p.m. Mason Street and Lassen Street, Chatsworth
Devonshire Division LAPD patrol units are called to the scene of an "ADW" (assault with a deadly weapon) at the 7-Eleven convenience store. Two men are allegedly assaulting one female, who is "lying on the floor" in an aisle of the store. LAFD is also responding.

9:38 p.m. 11500 block of Friar Street, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol units are dispatched to investigate "loud music" at the residence.

9:41 p.m. La Rue Street and Ilex Avenue, San Fernando
Mission Division LAPD patrol units are dispatched to the scene of a "man assaulting a woman" at the intersection.

9:44 p.m. 9449 San Fernando Road, Sun Valley
Foothill Division LAPD is called to the scene of a "domestic violence" incident reported at the Pacifica Hospital of the Valley. Patrol units are requested to respond "code 2" to the lobby of the hospital.

9:45 p.m. Chatsworth
LAFD is now on the scene of their call. They radio Operations Command Dispatch (OCD) about the nature of the incident, which appears to be a "domestic dispute." They request LAPD to respond.

9:47 p.m. 14500 block of Olive View Drive, Sylmar
Mission Division LAPD is called to the scene of an "domestic violence, restraining order violation." Patrol units are requested to respond "code 3" (with lights and sirens) to the apartment complex.

9:58 p.m. Southbound on Ruffner Avenue, toward San Fernando Mission, Granada Hills
Devonshire Division LAPD are alerted by a caller to an attempted suicide in the area. The person reported to be attempting suicide is last seen traveling in a silver SUV southbound on Ruffner Avenue.

10:01 p.m. Eastbound Sherman Way from the 405 Freeway, Van Nuys
LAPD receives information about a possible drunk driver in a black sedan, traveling eastbound on Sherman Way.
