1 Arrested After Attempted Burglary at Tarzana Medical Marijuana Dispensary, Police Say

The LAPD says a second person believed to have been involved in the attempted burglary is still being sought.

A person was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of burglary and an accomplice was being sought after a car chase that began in Tarzana and ended in Inglewood, authorities said.

The pair was first spotted by officers at 4:30 a.m. at 19654 Ventura, the location of , a medical marijuana dispensary, according to police.

The police were alerted of the potential burglary after a security officer called in to report an "an attempted burglary" Wednesday morning, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

"They spotted the vehicle, which was a silver Ford pickup, and then went into pursuit,'' said LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera.

The officers followed the pickup onto the San Diego (405) Freeway, Herrera said, adding that they exited the freeway at Manchester Boulevard, where they crashed their vehicle into a building at West 84th Place and West Boulevard. Police arrested one person after the crash, but the second ran away, Herrera said.

Officers looked for him in a perimeter search that took in parts of West 84th Place, West Boulevard and Manchester Boulevard. The LAPD deployed a K-9 unit in the search and was assisted by Inglewood police officers, Herrera said.

A man who answered the door to a Patch reporter and a customer said the store was closed. As he closed the door he told the reporter that he would return, but did not immediately do so.

owner, Mesi Ous, said that when she arrived at the location at 5 a.m., she noticed a police car and then another near her business, which is located near the Medical Wellness Center.

"I wasn't sure what was going on." Ous said. "My employee came in, I think they [the police] told him there was something going on when he came through the back."

The LAPD is still searching for second person believed to have been involved in the attempted burglary and chase.
