Trader Joe's Robber Uses Bomb Threat and a 'Man in Black Clothing' Dodges Traffic

These are the raw scanner reports from the San Fernando Valley Sunday and Monday.

Here are the raw data of reports collected Sunday and Monday by listening to the police scanner. If there are additional details needed, we'll file full news stories on the items and let you know. (Boldfaced communities are covered by Patch sites.)

Sunday

8:17 p.m. 14900 Roscoe Boulevard, Panorama City
Report of Grand Theft Auto.

8:19 p.m. 10130 Riverside Dr., Toluca Lake
Report of robbery at Trader Joe’s. Robber said "he had a bomb," but no weapon was seen. Cash was taken. (Listen to the attached audio recording as the LAPD discusses this incident on the scanner.)

8:44 p.m. 3600 block of Dixie Canyon Avenue, Sherman Oaks
Report of silent burglar alarm. Van Nuys unit is requested to respond.

8:44 p.m. 5300 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood
Report of assault with a deadly weapon. Four people riding in a blue Chevy Suburban are described as the perpetrators. "The weapon used was a rock."

8:50 p.m. Southbound 101 Freeway, near Lankershim Boulevard exit., Studio City
Report of a multiple car traffic accident. LAFD units responds and they find multiple patients. One critical patient is sent to Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital.

9:35 p.m. 5400 block of Tujunga Avenue, North Hollywood
Report of a man disturbing the peace.

10:00 p.m. Vineland Avenue and Saticoy Street, Sun Valley
Report of a "man with a gun." Police units are requested to respond to a public nuisance party at the location.

10:02 p.m. 6111 Topanga Canyon Boulevard, Woodland Hills
Report of assault with a deadly weapon. Security person at Keyes Honda observed three people inside the dealership looking for the possible assault victim.

10:10 p.m. Burbank Boulevard and Vineland Avenue, North Hollywood
Police find a 19-year old man "bleeding, but conscious with normal respiration." He is an alleged knife-assault victim with a “three-inch laceration on his forearm.” The crime is reported to have occurred near East Valley High School. A rescue ambulance is requested.

11:42 p.m. 4900 block of Ethel Avenue, Sherman Oaks
Person in a dark hooded sweatshirt of unknown gender is seen attacking two females in a car. The females are then seen running out of the car.

11:46 p.m. Lankershim Boulevard and Oxnard Street, North Hollywood
Patrol unit requests back-up to the scene.

11:50 p.m. Haskell Avenue and Sherman Way, Van Nuys
A man in "all black clothing" is seen "dodging cars in the street."

Monday

Midnight Beeman Avenue and Victory Boulevard, North Hollywood
Report of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence. The "daughter's ex-boyfriend" is the attacker, who fled the scene in a "yellow Mini Cooper." He may be "wearing a beanie" and he "has a beard."

12:15 a.m. 10500 block of Pinyon Street, Tujunga
Two or three burglars in gray hooded sweatshirts are seen fleeing eastbound in a white van.

12:20 a.m. Sherman Grove Avenue and Fenwick Street, Sunland
Two LAPD patrol units are now chasing the burglars in the white van, who are heading eastbound on Fenwick Street. A police helicopter is in the air above them, but pulls out to join another police chase in progress.

12:21 a.m. Southbound on Sepulveda Boulevard, at Devonshire Street, North Hills
Another team of LAPD units is chasing a person involved in an alleged shooting, who is trying to escape in his car. The police helicopter is now tracking the vehicle. The police units are able to stop the car at “Sepulveda Boulevard  and Lassen Street in Mission Hills and take him into custody.

12:25 a.m. 14000 block of Oxnard Street, Valley Glen
Report of armed robbery by three men. They used "bodily force."

1:04 a.m. 18000 block of Devonshire Street, Northridge
Report of assault with a deadly weapon. A man verbally threatened a female, then he assaulted her.

1:20 a.m. Sherman Way and Whitsett Avenue, Valley Glen
Report of hit-and-run. The victim is complaining of injuries. The suspect vehicle is a white Toyota Camry with front end damage on the drtiver’s side. The car is last seen heading northbound on the 170 Freeway.

1:45 a.m. 17800 block of Ventura Boulevard, Encino
Report of "unknown trouble." An open 911 call.

2:11 a.m. 15100 block of Parthenia Street, North Hills
Report of possible fight. Four men seen "with bats" and a "handgun." They were observed “firing at a red SUV.”

2:23 a.m. Vineland Avenue and Oxnard Street,  North Hollywood
Report of "motor vehicle" burglary. The car burglar is seen running toward the Vineland Avenue and Oxnard Street intersection. He is then apprehended by a patrol unit responding to the call.

2:24 a.m. Vanowen Street and Balboa Boulevard, Lake Balboa
Report of a “tree fire” near the intersection.
