2 Injured in 101 Freeway Crash

The accident happened near White Oak Avenue; the condition of the two is not currently known.

Two people were injured today in a multi-vehicle crash that sent one vehicle over the side of the 101 Freeway and into a light pole, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash on the westbound 101 at White Oak Avenue was reported at 4:44 a.m., said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos.

"There were at least three vehicles involved in the crash,'' he said. "At one point, they were blocking four lanes on the freeway.''

As 7 a.m. approached, two right freeway lanes and the White Oak Avenue onramp remained closed. Villalobos said one vehicle went over the side of the freeway and crashed into a light pole, knocking it over.

Two people were taken to hospitals in unknown condition, he said. The cause of the crash was unknown.
