Update: Area Remains Flooded in Encino

The flooding was on Adlon Street.

By City News Service

Road closure signs and standing water remained late Sunday night after a water main burst in a hilly neighborhood above Ventura Boulevard in Encino earlier in the day.

Los Angeles firefighters went to the 16700 block of Adlon Drive just after 7:30 a.m., when water was spotted running down both sides of the street.

No homes were flooded, and helicopter video made it appear that damage was limited to buckled pavement. A DWP repair crew was summoned to fix the leak.

The neighborhood affected was one block west of Hayvenhurst Avenue, about a mile south of the boulevard and, as of Sunday evening, residents in the area reported the stretch of Adlon between Empress and Hayvenhurts remains impassable.
