Vegetation Blaze in Tarzana Extinguished

29 firefighters were at the scene Friday afternoon.

A fire burned today in vegetation near structures in Tarzana, but no one was harmed, a city fire official said.

The fire was reported at 3:08 p.m. in the 5100 block of North Nestle Avenue, according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Initial reports indicated the flames were threatening structures in the area, and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power officials were contacted for downed power lines, Scott said.

With 29 firefighters on the scene, the flames were under control in 23 minutes, Scott said. No injuries were reported. There were no reports of structures damaged.
