The fire was reported at 3:08 p.m. in the 5100 block of North Nestle Avenue, according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Initial reports indicated the flames were threatening structures in the area, and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power officials were contacted for downed power lines, Scott said.
