Storm Causes Debris From 405 Construction to Enter Backyards

The LAFD is at the scene to prevent damage or injury.

The Los Angeles Fire Department is currently assessing debris in backyards on Royal Woods Drive that has flowed down from the 405 Freeway widening project due to rainy weather, according to Shawn Lenske, spokesperson for the LAFD.

The LAFD was called out to the 3700 block of Royal Woods Drive, said Lenske.

"We are on scene," said Lenske, "and Caltrans [the state agency in charge of the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Project] has been notified because some debris from the construction site was falling. The construction company is already on their way to see that nothing further happens. We have units on scene to make sure that no property or anybody gets injured."
