Feuer, Trutanich Speak at City Attorney Candidates’ Forum

The Encino Neighborhood Council sponsors Wednesday night's event.

With a little more than three weeks remaining for the Los Angeles City Attorney election on May 21, the Encino Neighborhood Council hosted a candidates’ forum Wednesday night for incumbent Carmen Trutanich and his challenger, Assemblyman Mike Feuer.

Held in the auditorium of the Encino Community Center following the monthly board meeting of the ENC, the forum attracted about 100 people and was moderated by Rob Glushon, a past president of the Encino Neighborhood Council.

The forum began with the candidates introducing themselves to the audience for three minutes each, which is the subject of the two videos accompanying this article. Feuer spoke first, stressing what he said was the importance of reinvogorating the neighborhood prosecutor program that addressed local quality of life issues, and which Trutanich cut. Trutanich, who spoke after Feuer, countered that there was no need to reinvogorate the neighborhood prosecutor program because crime in L.A. is at an all-time low.
