Mayor Villaraigosa: 'I Want to Run for Governor'

"I believe in public service, I want to run for governor. In fact, I fully expect that I will."

Termed-out Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has been publicly job hunting.

You may have read that he's leaving office broke. You may have seen that he wanted to be President Obama's Secretary of Transportation.

But after eight years in City Hall, what does he really want?

He tells KPCC's Larry Mantle: “You mentioned governor, look, I believe in public service, I want to run for governor. In fact, I fully expect that I will," said Villaraigosa. "I’m going to tell you something. I will never have a job like this. This city has given me more than I could have ever hoped for."
