Eric Garcetti to Attend Encino Neighborhood Council Meeting

Information about Wednesday's Encino Neighborhood Council meeting.

The Encino Neighborhood Council (ENC) will be having its general meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Encino Community Center, 4935 Balboa Blvd. Light supper will be served. See the full agenda attached.

Guest Speaker: L.A. City Council President Eric Garcetti  

Councilman Garcetti will address city issues such as the city budget. Join us for a lively conversation and Q&A. Councilman Garcetti was elected to the Los Angeles City Council in 2001 and reelected in 2005 and 2009. As the President, Garcetti is the acting mayor when the mayor is out of state, appoints the Assistant President Pro Tempore, makes committee assignments for his colleagues on the Council, and leads all City Council meetings. As a City Councilman, he has especially focused on issues of housing and economic development, the environment, public safety, community engagement, neighborhood beautification, and international diplomacy.

The ENC will be hearing the following agenda items: 

  • 17401 W. Ventura Boulevard, Suite A-7  Case No. ZA-2010-3412ZV/ENV-2010-3413-CE Pet Grooming & Boarding  
  • TRAFFIC / TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE – I-405/I-101  Update
  • Negative impacts of Il Villagio Tuscano 500 unit project on Camarillo St. and Sepulveda Blvd. /  Ventura & Sepulveda Blvd’s / 101 & 405 Freeways
  • PLU COMMITTEE: Re. Encino portion of Ventura Blvd. Specific Plan -MOTION …to develop Architectural Design Guidelines that are the result of community input and evaluation and define such architectural features as color, building, materials, signage and landscaping. i.e. Gold Mountain
  • Community Care Facilities (Sober Living Homes) CPC-2009-800-CA Petition to support proposed ordinance intended to protect the character of low-density, residential single family neighborhoods
  • CVS PHARMACY: ABC license application for “off-site sale” withdrawn.
  • OUTREACH COMMITTEE is forming teams to develop personal contact within the 7 ENC Areas
  • EDUCATION  COMMITTEE is in the process of selecting local schools to receive grants of up to $1,500 based on their application submittals
  • PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE: CERT Classes to be announced

The Encino Neighborhood Council needs your help in filing the food pantries in the Valley. We are sending this notice to give you and others the opportunity to hear more information about the proposed project and to share your views prior to any recommendation from the ENC. 

CD-5 Councilman Paul Koretz’s  Update:  

Encino now has a “VOICE” to Downtown City Hall. Jeff Ebenstein and Shawn Bayliss, District 5 field deputies, are available to answer questions and address community issues at council meetings. Councilman Paul Koretz is available during his walk-in “open office” every other Thursday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. Call the councilman’s office to confirm dates 818-971-3088.
