Blog: On Valentine’s Day, Show Your Employees You Love Them Without Breaking the Bank

Giving your employees roses doesn’t have to be expensive.

Valentine’s day doesn’t have to be just for couples. It can also be a time to show your employees how much you appreciate them in a way your accountant will love.

Every year, my mother and I get each employee of our family’s tow truck company, RB Towing, a bouquet of roses.

The day before Valentine’s Day, my mother travels to downtown Los Angeles and buys 12 dozen roses in addition to baby’s breath flowers and greens. That same evening, we wrap bundles of six roses each with plastic wrap and ribbons.

On Valentine’s day, we present the gifts to our employees and they get home with roses in hand. One worker gives the flowers to his mother.

The cost for us ends up being about $10 per employee.

Do you have any cost-cutting  ways to show your appreciation to employees? Tell us in the comments.
