Blog: What's Going On In Lake Balboa Park?

Baseball field, Los Angeles River, Balgoa Bridge, Soccer Fields

Lake Balboa Park is a wonderful place with a lot to do for everyone however there
are three places of interest that I have questions about. The Baseball field across from the entrance to Lake Balboa Park has been completed for nearly a year and yet it is not open to the public. Why? The lights are on at night and the sprinklers have been installed so what gives?

The soccer field just south of the L.A. River has been under remodeling for more than 6 months. It was touted as reopening last fall. The sprinkler system is going in at a snail’s pace. When can we expect this project to be completed?

Finally, the Los Angeles is an embarrassing mess of trash and twisted flood debris. The last people who did anything on a meaningful level were a group of kids from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who one year ago did a major trash clean up. Isn't there someone from Tree People or the Sierra Club that should be occasionally picking up trash?
