Neighborhood Council Valley Village is an organization of independent community-based assocations acting as a conduitMore between city hall and Valley Village. Any Neighborhood Council is created to be an advisor, working with elected officials to prioritize the needs of communities. Giving a voice to all parts of a community, the council assigns one or more representatives to respective areas such as education, religion, business owners, renters and homeowners. An open meeting is held every month on the fourth Wednesday at the Colfax Charter Elementary School.

The Encino Community Center is a great facility full of friendly staff and local resources. The auditorium, where theMore Neighborhood Council holds its monthly meetings, has a seating capacity of 250 and also serves as a community room. The offices of the Encino Women's Club and other organizations are also located in the center.
