Born in Madrid, Spain, Marta’s family came to this country like most immigrants struggling to get established. Her mother was very artistic and with those skills she created her own floral design company that left little time for homemaking.

At a very young age, Marta began cleaning the entire home, doing laundry and ultimately making meals for the family. While others were playing with dolls, Marta was playing with scouring pads and the vacuum. She became very adept at it and actually loved it.

Some years later, after graduating from UCLA with a degree in Spanish and Linguistics, Marta married and had a family of her own. It was then when she was looking for a career that kept her close to home to raise her children and realized how important it was to have competent help to assist: this is how Domestic Connections Agency started in 1989.

As her business grew, she became an expert in her field and wrote her first book in 2006 primarily directed to the household employer entitled “Help! How to Find Hire Train and Maintain Your Household Help!” winning the Mom’s Choice Award for 2009.
Her latest Book/DVD set “The Professional Housekeeper” published in 2010 was developed to train Homemakers and Career Household Workers teaching everything in the home from cleaning & laundry to table setting & entertaining. She has incorporated these published works into her greatest passion for teaching and educating others and began a personalized service taking her into homes, assessing the needs, training staff members and creating a personalized household manual.

Her motto is that there isn’t anything that one cannot learn to do with proper education and training. Her goal is to turn the average housekeeper into a confident and skilled professional that any household employer wants in their home. She is also passionate about protecting and educating domestic workers as it relates to their rights under labor codes and employment agreements.

Marta has been asked to discuss issues that affect domestic personnel on national and regional radio talk shows. In addition, she gives workshops for parents to assist in their hiring and training of Housekeepers and Nannies, and travels nationwide giving training seminars.
