Susan Shelley is the author of "The 37th Amendment: A Novel" and of a modern history of the Bill of Rights titled, "How the First Amendment Came to Protect Topless Dancing." She graduated magna cum laude from California State University Northridge with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American history and then went to work for Merv Griffin Enterprises, where she was the Associate Producer of "Jeopardy!" before going on to be a full-time writer. Susan's op-ed articles on issues related to freedom and constitutional rights have appeared in the Los Angeles Daily News and other papers around the country. An energetic advocate of taxpayers' rights, she ran for Congress in the June 5, 2012, primary and was endorsed by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association and the Los Angeles Daily News. Susan's latest book is "Uncle Sam's Nickel: The Five Percent Flat Tax that will Restore Freedom and Prosperity." She's also the author of the America Wants to Know blog and the creator and writer of tidbits® puzzles, an original word game available in paperback books and weekly on the Internet.
